B33 (Horsehead Nebula) Gallery

The famous dust cloud B33 is only visible because it is located in front of the faint HII region IC434. Slightly north-east of B33 the emission nebula NGC2023 can be found. It is one of the brightest emission nebula in the sky.

The Flame nebula NGC2024 just on the east side of the Orion belt star Alnitak showing very complex structures. A star cluster is currently born in the dust lanes of this nebula. Currently hidden in dense dust clouds it will become visible in a few thousand years.
