Open Clusters

Open Clusters are loosely bound by gravity. Up to a few thousand stars that were formed at the same time when a large molecular cloud collapsed. Due to the gravitational forces in the Milky Way most Globular Cluster are destroyed in a few hundred Million years. Open Clusters are also known as Galactic Clusters because most of them are located in the band of the Milky Way.
